The custom red and black SXSPerformance.com graphics are what you first notice about this Polaris RZR XP4 1000, from head to toe this machine is riddled with upgrades.
To break this XP4 1000 down we will start with the exterior protection. We covered the passengers with DG Offroad’s radius roll cage and rear bumper, and an Outdoor Logic front bumper. For a little extra detail, we added the laser-cut Outdoor Logic Rear Suspension Plate to the rear bumper. The doors are custom designed by DG Offroad, with a slam latch feature and full length protection. The underbody has a Factory UTV Full UHMW Skid plate, and Trailing Arm Guards. Rock Sliders, by Vendetta Motorsports line the sides for added protection and make for an easy step to get in and out of the vehicle. Now, lets move to the exterior performance upgrades.
We knew this XP4 1000 was going to be used not only for show but also trail riding. To maneuver around the trails, we added the Assault Industries High Clearance Radius Rods and Tie Rods. We upgraded the Sway Bar Links and Clamps, to One Stop Design and Machine for added strength and stability. To keep the axles from chipping or splitting, Desert Molding Concepts Axle Wraps keep the axles protected. A few additional pieces of protective gear that have been installed, are the Assault Industries Shock Guards and CV Guards, and the Vendetta Motorsports Rectifier Rock Guard Cover Plate.
For a little more power we added the easy to install slip on exhaust by Yoshimura, and protected the exhaust with Outdoor Logics’ Exhaust Shield. A CVT Free Flow Kit by Desert Molding Concepts will keep the air flowing to the CVT drive system. While we are talking about air flow, we replaced the factory air filter with the Desert Molding Concepts R2C OEM Air Filter Replacement. The R2C Air Filter is cleanable and will never have to be replaced again. As for the obstacles that are encountered while riding, we upgraded the tires to the GBC Motorsports 30x10x14 Kanati Mongrels that wrap the OMF Performance NXG1 Beadlock Wheels. To knock down the dirt that the tires will create we have added the Desert Molding Concepts Mud Flaps. It is amazing how sleek these Mud Flaps look and how much it limits the amount of flying debris. You will notice that the Sway Bar Links, OMF Wheels, Radius Rods, Tie Rods, Front Bumper skid plate, and Rear Exhaust shield are all custom powder coated to match each other.
We’ve added protection and upgraded the performance; so lets talk about this vehicles visibility. With Sick Stick Whips dual 4 foot LED lighted whips and SXSPerformance Flags this Side X Side is noticeable to fellow riders along the trail. Equipped all over this machine you will find KC HiLiTES products. A 30in C Series LED Light Bar, located on the roof; and a pair of Flex Dual LED Lights on top of the front bumper. Posted up on the A-Pillars are two 3” LZR Series Cube Lights mounted with Axia Alloys A-Pillar Light Mounts. There are a total of six Cyclone Accessory Lights located around the vehicle. Four are located under each of the fenders for a red underbody glow, as well as a pair of clear dome lights for the interior. In the rear of the vehicle you will see a 3” C Series Amber LED Light mounted off the roll cage for added visibility through the dust by your fellow riders. Now that we have the aspects of the exterior, lets take a dive into the interior of this beautiful machine.
The interior is loaded with comfort, safety, and gadgets, lots of gadgets. We made a huge improvement in ride comfort and passenger safety with the PRP Seats GT S.E. Suspension Seats and 5.3 Harnesses with quick adjusters. Breathing easy in the dust is made easy with the added Parker Pumper Pro Lite Air Pumper, Outerwears Parker Pumper Filter, 2 Hose’s, and a Dual Hose Connecter to complete the circuit for easy breathing. We mounted the Parker Pumper right behind the Passenger Seat with what we call the Billet Fire Extinguisher mount. The mount securely fits the Parker Pumper and is fastened down with a pair of hose clamps.
Now that one can breathe through the dust, lets see through the dust. A Lowrance Baja HDS 7m GPS is mounted right in front of the passenger with the Axia Alloy 6” GPS Arms. GPS systems are a great addition to your trips. Map new trails and discover new areas with the peace of mind you can actually trace your steps back to camp. Now, while you are discovering these new trails lets get some music in your ears. The PCI Race Radio California Ultimate 4 Kit is mounted with the PCI Race Radio Intercom Bracket below the dash. With Bluetooth connectivity you can pair your phone with the intercom. Place your phone and other belongings in one of the PRP Seats Door Bags, knowing your belongings will be safe and easily accessible for those epic rides. Being able to talk not only to your passenger but also your fellow riders is just plain awesome. Communication between cars, provides you and your fellow riders with a much safer riding atmosphere and if you are out at a race, you can get live feed on what is happening! This communication kit is one of the best additions we made to this vehicle.
Now that there is communication, a Signal Turn Kit by XTC Motorsports will alert everyone visually where you will be going. Whether it is a left or right hand turn the Momo Steering Wheel gives you better grip while steering. After steering through those trails and making it to that highest peak, sometimes you find yourself on a steep incline. The RXUTV Pawltector Parking Brake will keep this machine in place, easy to install, and gives you some reassurance.
All of these gadgets need power and switches, lots of switches. So we added the KFour ATC Fuse block and a handful of KFour 523 Switches. To house the switches we installed the Outdoor Logic, 2 Switch, 3 Switch, 4 Switch, and 2 Gauge Panels to the original dash. We also custom powder coated the panels as well to match the other custom accessories around the vehicle. Keeping up with all the gadgets we also added a handful Billet Accessories. We equipped this ride with an assortment of Axia Alloys Billet Accessories. Their 9" Wide Bolt On Panoramic Rearview Mirror, Shock Reservoir Mounts, Registration Plate, and Quick Release Fire Extinguisher Mount with extinguisher, a pair of 12” Sun Visors, Helmet Hooks, and a Parallel Goggle Hanger. We told you there were a lot of gadgets.
Lets, finish this build off with an ice cold beverage. For that ultimate cold beverage we placed Yeti’s 35 Tundra Cooler in the bed. Secured the Yeti with Outdoor Logic’s Yeti Cooler Mount and Bed hooks. We have tested this Yeti Cooler to the max. With our extended trips and hot sand dune runs, our beverages were still cold and the ice was still solid. The Yeti 35 Tundra, is yet another great addition to any Side X Side/vehicle.
