SXSPerformance attends the 2015 Desert Bloom Rally

While most people think of February 14th as Valentines day, we think of the Desert Bloom Rally held in Quartzsite, AZ each year. This would be our third year attending the event and enjoying the Southern Arizona desert. What an adventure this year was, there were multiple trail rides, catered dinners, huge raffle prizes, celebrity appearances, dinner cruises, night rides and more. The Rally was packed with action for the whole family, if you didn’t have a great time it was your own fault.

Five 2 productions and their staff and volunteers did an amazing job again. Each year this event brings in more family and friends a like. There were over 80 UTV’s that got together in Quartzsite, AZ to explore the trails and do a little shopping in the vendors alley at the Desert Bloom Rally.

This year the action kicked off Thursday afternoon with KC HiLiTES sponsoring the night run ending at the Colorado River. How do you go wrong with a kickoff ride ending at the river? Top that off with fresh ice cream and it was a win win. Friday Discount Tire took us through a scenic section of the Arizona desert to Brenda for a great Hamburger. Along the way we were even able to learn a thing or two about General Patton and his training missions in the area during World War II. Saturday was our day, we sponsored the SXSPerformance-Bouse Ride. Bouse is one of our personal favorites as it gives riders a great variety of terrain to test their skills on and ends up in a great little bar in the town of Bouse.

Saturday evening was a great night to be in camp. Rising Hy catered the meal for us and allowed us to sample some of their amazing hot sauces keeping it spicy all night long. Followed up by dinner was a huge raffle with thousands of dollars of prizes given out. Wheels and tires from Discount tire, a set of PRP seats, Driven Racing oil, Sick Stick Whips, front bumpers, mirrors, harness bars, and lots more were awarded. The best part is the Yuma Clan didn’t clean house in the raffle like they have in years past.

Wrapping up a great weekend of trail riding was the PRP Seats-Hogs Back Ride. Hogs Back is one of the more technical rides of the weekend with a nice rocky hill climb that leads to an amazing view over the Quartzsite valley. As riders departed down the mountain and back for camp a majority would start heading home to gear up for the work week. This is when the fun starts for us. A sunset trip to an undisclosed location for the honor race. The name says it all and caps off a great weekend!

As we look back on the event, we had a blast as always at the Desert Bloom Rally and we hope to see each and everyone of you out there again next year!
